Elon Musk has hired Joe Benarroch of NBCUniversal to take on a new role as a senior executive in Twitter starting today.
"I am looking forward to bringing my experience to Twitter, and to working with the entire team to build Twitter 2.0 together," Benarroch wrote in a LinkedIn post.
Benarroch was the executive vice president of communications, global advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal, and has also worked with Facebook early in his career.
As a new Twitter executive, he will oversee business operations and work together with Linda Yaccarino, former chairman at NBCUniversal, and now Twitter’s new CEO.
Welcome to the flock, @benarroch_joe! From one bird to the next.

Let’s get to work @Twitter! #timetofly
Last month, the Space X founder wrote in a tweet his plans to step down as Twitter’s CEO, handing the role to Yaccarino as he transitions to being an executive chair and chief technology officer for the company.
Musk also shared that Yaccarino will also help in transforming Twitter into “X,” or the “everything app.”
I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.

Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app. https://t.co/TiSJtTWuky
Musk’s new hire also comes a week after Twitter head of trust and safety Ella Irwin and head of brand safety and ad quality A.J. Brown have resigned from their posts. Irwin, alongside previous head Yoel Roth, oversaw content moderation within the social media platform.
