Apple is giving the AirPods, its flagship wireless audio device, a fresh revamp in 2024 that will succeed the third-generation AirPods currently out in the market.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, the tech giant will refresh the entry-level AirPods as well as the AirPods Max headphones, while the AirPod Pro will likely see more drastic improvements in 2025.

The new standard model will get shorter stems and a new fit that will look and feel like a mix of the third-gen AirPods and Pro models.

The AirPod Max won't see many changes but will introduce new colorways and improved systems.

Meanwhile, the upcoming fourth-gen AirPods Pro will still have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and speakers on its charging case.

Just like the latest iPhone 15, all AirPods models will sport a new USB-C lightning charging port in compliance with EU regulations.

A few months ago, Bloomberg reported that Apple is working on giving its AirPods the ability to track users' hearing health and body temperature, but it remains to be determined which generation of AirPods will integrate these features.

iOS 17.1 Has Landed With New Features

Meanwhile, Apple just dropped its latest OS update for the iPhone, and it features several improvements for tools such as AirDrop and Apple Music.

With AirDrop, users can continue to transfer files over the internet if they step out of range from the other device they are trying to connect to.

StandBy also got a slight upgrade with new display options for the user when their phones turn off.

Apple Music is perhaps the app that has received the most notable changes:

  • Favorites tab can now be expanded to include songs, albums, and playlists that can be filtered to display in the user's library
  • New collection of cover art collection with designs that change colors depending on the music
  • Song suggestions now appear at the bottom of playlists for users to be able to add music with ease

To download the latest iOS 17.1 update, users can head to Settings > General > About > Software Update.
