Elon Musk, the owner of 'X' (formerly known as Twitter), revealed in a post on Friday that the social media platform reached a "new high" in terms of monthly users.

According to the graph, X's monthly users have reached 541 million. This new count was achieved even after the "removal of a vast number of bots," as per Musk.

In comparison, Twitter had an estimated 229 million monthly active users in May of last year and 259.4 million daily active users as of November, following Musk's takeover.

The latest development comes as X's competitor Threads struggles to sustain its users despite major updates.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told employees during a company town hall that the text-based app experienced a 50% drop in user base.

"Obviously, if you have more than 100 million people sign up, ideally it would be awesome if all of them or even half of them stuck around. We're not there yet," he explained.

X Introduces New Tagline

In a post, Musk revealed that the new tagline for X will now be: "Blaze your glory!"

Since the announcement, the new slogan has been spotted in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

In its latest update, the X app has also replaced "tweets" with "posts, "retweets" with "reposts," along with small bug improvements.
