According to a press release, the two companies will produce educational content that inspires users to act against climate change, including mini-documentaries, Q&As with award-finalists, creator collaborations, and amplifying series’ such as “Most searched for climate questions” and “Relax with the Earthshot Prize.”
The Earthshot Prize is a charity initiative first launched by Prince William in 2020. Celebrating its third annual Awards Ceremony in Singapore this year, the organization is dedicated to finding, speeding up, and scaling solutions to “repair and regenerate the planet.”
The Earthshot Prize CEO Hannah Jones expressed her excitement about the two-year partnership with YouTube.
“At The Earthshot Prize we want to incentivize innovation and change to help repair our planet and partnering with YouTube, one of the world’s biggest platforms, allows us to do that on a truly global scale,” she explained.
Perdo Pina, Head of YouTube Europe, Middle East, and Africa also shared the company’s vision in line with the partnership, as it provides them with an opportunity to celebrate and spotlight what finalists have to offer for this year’s award.
“Our vision is to make YouTube the world’s leading destination for awareness, education, and action on the global climate crisis and partnering with The Earthshot Prize allows us to raise the voices of authoritative experts on this important issue,” he shared.
