T-Mobile has recently introduced ads to its T Life app, in what seems to be an effort to explore new avenues to fund its reward programs.
First reported by The Mobile Report, ads have been spotted within the app promoting a mobile game called "Match Collector," which has raised eyebrows among users.
This is the only ad users have been seeing, but many are speculating that, perhaps, the tech giant will introduce other types of ads in the future.
Why Is T Life Introducing Ads?
Many users think that the telecommunications company is introducing ads to fund its costly reward programs, which include "T-Mobile Tuesdays" and "Magenta Status."
But some are confused, as the company previously reported impressive financial growth, and even launched its own star-studded Super Bowl campaign to promote Magenta Status.
The T Life app, previously known as T-Mobile Tuesdays, has also been revamped by the company to offer additional services like Home Internet and the previously mentioned Magenta Status.
T-Mobile Tuesdays has not been replaced and is still accessible in the new T Life app.
While the app's recent inclusion of ads may attract potential backlash, its past version was also spotted showing ads in its time, which makes this new development not as surprising.
