Scooter Braun is now the sole CEO of the entertainment lifestyle platform HYBE America. He previously shared the role of co-CEO with Big Hit (former name of HYBE) veteran Lenzo Yoon who joined it back in 2010 as a head of strategic planning.

Braun’s investment holding company Ithaca Holdings joined forces with HYBE back in April 2021 to give it a full stake in Ithaca properties. These include media company SB Projects and big-name clients such as Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato.

Due to the merger, Braun joined the HYBE board and kept his CEO title for business in America. Founder of Big Hit Bang Si-Hyuk then stepped down from his CEO post in 2021 but remained chairman of the company.

This move paved the way for Yoon, who first became the Global CEO in May 2020 before eventually becoming the co-CEO of HYBE America in July 2021. His task at the time was to “localize the K-pop business model in the U.S. music industry,” contributing hugely to the development of the BTS fanbase.

Now that Braun is the sole CEO, it is still unsure what role Yoon will play in the future of the company.

HYBE America is one of the companies under HYBE. The parent company is also home to HYBE Japan, BIGHIT MUSIC, PLEDIS, ADOR, and more.
