Salesforce on Wednesday unveiled two new generative AI solutions to transform how companies connect with their customers.
Marketing GPT and Commerce GPT were introduced at the company’s annual Connections conference and will enable businesses to create and deliver personalized campaigns at scale and eliminate time-consuming tasks from workflows.
“Businesses are looking to harness new AI advances and tap into vast troves of data to deliver personalized customer experiences across every interaction,” said Salesforce President and Chief Product Officer, David Schmaier, in a statement.
“Marketing GPT and Commerce GPT—fueled by trust and harmonized first-party data—will revolutionize how businesses interact with customers and at the same time dramatically improve employee productivity,” he added.
Driven by the Salesforce Data Cloud and the Einstein GPT generative assistant, Marketing GPT allows marketers to automatically generate personalized emails, smarter audience segments, and marketing journeys.
With Commerce GPT, meanwhile, brands would be able to deliver customized commerce experiences with auto-generated insights and recommendations based on unified real-time data from Data Cloud. Marketers would also be able to prompt the system to create multiple versions of content or to autogenerate product descriptions.
The various features will be piloted and rolled out in phases, with the earliest being generally available by February 2024.
Generative AI is accelerating productivity and driving business efficiency. Research from Salesforce showed that that 71% of marketers believe that it will enable them to focus on more strategic work and 60% of marketers say it would transform their role. However, 63% said trusted customer data was needed for generative AI to work.
The offerings show Salesforce’s increasing focus on AI solutions and come after the CRM giant in March announced a partnership with OpenAI to integrate a ChatGPT app into the Slack messaging platform and launched Einstein GPT, the world’s first generative AI CRM technology.
