The “Resident Evil 4” remake has received a third official trailer, released by Capcom at Sony’s State of Play livestream, with insights into what surprises are in store.

With the official release only a month away, audiences are eager to learn more about the remake of the cult survival-horror video game. In what seems to be a perfect blend of old and new, the trailer recaptures the atmosphere of the original “Resident Evil 4.”

However, it also sees Leon S. Kennedy exploring new environments and fighting against unexpected villains and old nemeses like Jack Krauser.

Capcom also announced the return of a free download for “Mercenaries” mode following the launch. This refers to a game mode of “Resident Evil 4” that is more akin to that of an arcade game, with the focus placed on reaching a high combo score. Additionally, a playable demo of the game will be available ahead of launch. The dates for both are currently unknown.

Capcom aims to “modernize the original while preserving its essence,” bringing the 2005 original back to life.

“Resident Evil 4” will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Windows PC on March 24, as well as a deluxe edition which is now available for pre-order and includes additional in-game content and customization items.
