British cruise line P&O Cruises just launched a new brand campaign, including a 40-second spot that shows vacationers discovering the wonders that might be available on a cruise.
In "Caribbean Like Never Before," families on vacation are seen doing all kinds of activities under the sun: exploring wildlife, drinking cocktails, sleeping on a hammock, swimming in the beach, and enjoying shows in the Arvia cruise ship — all to the sound of Bobby Darin’s classic hit, “Beyond the Sea.”
Made by creative agency Pablo, the short spot utilizes a bullet-time filming technique to captivate viewers and highlight the beauty of Caribbean beaches.
“If a normal holiday is a movie, a P&O Cruises holiday is a boxset," the film concludes.
P&O Cruises VP of brand, marketing and sales Robert Scott explained how the company wanted its latest campaign to reach more than the cruise category and stand out from the usual travel pack, "both in content and execution.”
“The unique experiences you can only have on a P&O Cruises holiday are central to the ‘Holiday like never before’ campaign, and we’re so excited to share these with an audience who may never have thought about travelling on a ship before," he added.
Meanwhile, Pablo's executive creative director, Tim Snape, explained how they were taking on the challenge of changing the perceptions of cruising with the new campaign. "The more we looked, the more we found that people who cruise for the first time have these moments of realisation," he shared.
“We’ve applied our promise of ‘like never before’ to every aspect of our creative too, from filming technique to music, so I hope the end result will stand out in the category and help change some minds.”
