OpenAI has finally launched an iOS version of its AI chatbot ChatGPT, made especially for iOS users “on the go.”

ChatGPT for iOS will remain faithful to its desktop version, giving users precise answers to questions and prompts, helping create messages, generating ideas, and summarizing text straight from their mobile phones. It will also remain ad-free.

More notably, the free-to-use app will give users the ability to sync their chats between devices, as long as they’re using the same account. With the integration of Whisper, ChatGPT for iOS is also capable of processing users’ voice inputs using an open-source speech-recognition system.

ChatGPT Plus subscribers on iOS will also continue to have access to GPT-4 and other features straight from their phones.

ChatGPT for iOS can be downloaded straight from the Apple App Store. While the AI company has already rolled out the iOS app in the U.S., it plans to expand to more countries in the weeks to come. OpenAI also promised that an Android version of ChatGPT will come “soon.”

OpenAI’s iOS launch comes only a week after its rival Google cut the waitlist for Bard, officially making the service available to the public.

During Google I/O 2023, Google also announced new Bard features such as the ability to process Japanese and Korean languages, integrate third party services, and create AI-generated images through Adobe Firefly.
