Shoe titan Nike is set to revive the Kobe Brand sneaker line prior to the late basketball superstar’s birthday on August 24.
During Nike's Q4 Earnings Call, CEO John Donahoe conveyed his positive outlook regarding the relaunch of the Kobe line this summer.
Following the news, enthusiastic fans took to social media to express their excitement and anticipation. Here are some of the reactions from Twitter:
Nike bringing back the Kobe brand is so huge. That’s awesome 🙌

However, some fans are skeptical about the shoe brand’s relaunch.
As much as I love this, and these shoes will most definitely sell out because of just how great they are.

There’s always that small percentage of me that thinks “what a way for Nike to make a ton of money in Kobe’s name, gotta be a cash grab” https://t.co/CNt20FoIJR
I don’t want it to happen because everything will be so damn exclusive we will have to pay 4x times the amount to get it! It’s BS and F @Nike for doing that to all Kobe fans!

Nike's decision to relaunch the Kobe line shows their commitment to honoring Bryant's legacy and meeting the demand from fans who have been eagerly awaiting new releases.
Following the tragic death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant in 2020, there were initial uncertainties surrounding the future production of the Nike Kobe line.
But in March 2022, Vanessa Bryant, Kobe Bryant's widow, confirmed that the Nike Kobe line would indeed continue.
“I am so proud that my husband's shoes are still the most worn by players on NBA courts and that the demand for his shoes remain[s] so desired by his fans around the world.”
