Moderna just launched a commercial that spotlights the power of mRNA and what it can do to our bodies.
In the new spot titled “Welcome to the mRNAge,” the company reminds viewers how mRNA has changed the way humanity has fought viruses, helped create medicines at “unprecedented speed,” and its potential in changing how we can stand up to multiple diseases, including cancer.
“One strand of mRNA can change life for the better,” the narrator explained in the video.
The commercial closes with a shot of a giant floating “mRNA” strand as the logo appears on screen. “And the company that’s getting us there: Moderna,” it ends.

Despite being a pharmaceutical ad, the 90-second spot harped on emotion-driven video marketing, depicting the importance of mRNA through artistically shot vignettes of people doing different activities, weaved together in a studio setting.
Created by the Los Angeles-based agency, TBWA\Chiat\Day, the newest commercial is a part of an ongoing campaign launched by Moderna in May of last year.
According to Kate Cronin, Moderna’s chief brand officer, the TV spot was not meant to feel like a pharmaceutical ad. “Our intent is to show up differently and explain what else mRNA could do—shifting the focus to a broader picture of mRNA, while building familiarity, preference and trust with Moderna,” she explained.
Alongside Welcome to the mRNAge, the biotech company also launched a 30-second commercial highlighting Moderna’s role in fighting the “big, intimidating, impossible-to-change" problems, leaning more towards what viewers would instantly know is a pharmaceutical ad.

“The last two years have brought tremendous change for the world and for Moderna. We knew that as we scaled, we needed to prioritize taking our brand to the next level, while underscoring that Moderna has been one of the only companies studying mRNA for nearly 13 years,” Cronin shared.
