Social media giants Meta, Twitter, and TikTok rank among the most hated brands in the U.S. despite their massive user base in the country.

The poll, conducted by The Axios Harris Poll, surveyed over 16,000 Americans who rated the 100 most visible companies across nine reputation categories.

Brands with the worst reputation in America

  1. The Trump Organization
  2. FTX
  3. Fox
  4. Twitter
  5. Meta
  6. Spirit Airlines
  7. TikTok

Despite having a user base of at least 64.9 million in the United States alone, Twitter faced significant backlash due to their poor performance in the "culture" and "ethics" categories, after laying off thousands of employees through email.

TikTok, on the other hand, scored poorly in the "citizenship" and "character" categories. Growing concerns among American lawmakers regarding the potential influence of the Chinese government on the platform have raised questions about its trustworthiness and commitment to the country's values.

Although Meta, Twitter, and TikTok have a significant user base in the United States, their poor reputation rankings indicate the challenges they face in building trust and improving public perception.

Meanwhile, the fashion brand Balenciaga also garnered attention in the rankings. Balenciaga faced calls for boycotts after a controversial ad campaign that depicted children with harness-wearing teddy bears, leading to public outrage.
