McDonald’s Australia has left a lot of netizens angry with its latest April Fools Prank.

In an Instagram Post, the fast-food chain announced the “McFry,” its latest offering putting together two of its iconic offerings, the classic Quarter Pounder and its world-famous fries.

The ultimate Mac-hack now comes made to order, as we take the classic Quarter Pounder and stack it with Australia’s fave fries. No mess. No fuss. No worries. We’ve made it so you don’t have to! Get your hands on the McFry today. Available until yesterday,” the caption wrote.

The company also partnered with TikTok vlogger @angeeats to create a video review of the imaginary product.

“The well-known hack that we all know and love has just hit the menu in McDonald’s Australia,” the vlogger shared as he held up the supposed McFry. “This is insane. Wow.”

Despite being a harmless digital marketing campaign, the McFry received backlash from angry customers, with many hoping the offering was an actual product.

“I’d actually eat this maccas don’t play with me on April fools day,” one Instagram user commented.

“This isn't even a funny joke because it's what we all want. Been doing it ourselves for years. About time, Maccas stood up and listened to the people! Make a fries burger,” a second user shared.

"I was so excited until I read the last part “available until yesterday”. Maybe McDonald’s should actually release burgers like this. Would be a nice change from the usual menu," another user on Facebook wrote.

This was not the first time the fast-food giant has launched a made-up product as part of its April Fools campaign. Last 2019, McDonald’s Australia teased the launch of a new “McPickle Burger.”
