McDonald’s just launched a new campaign celebrating the birthday of one of its beloved mascots, Grimace.
The fast-food chain first teased the campaign through a series of tweets that showed Grimace “hacking” into its official account. The company has also changed its profile picture and display images to spotlight its purple mascot.

The Grimace Campaign will also include the launch of a new video game in collaboration with Krool Toys, where users will be tasked with finding other mascots like Birdie and Hamburglar in a quest to cut Grimace’s cake.
The game is also slated to be launched on desktop and mobile on June 12.
Additionally, McDonald’s will also be launching limited-edition Grimace merchandise and boosting its charity efforts by donating $5 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) for every birthday memory shared on Instagram via an “add yours” sticker.
“[Grimace’s] Birthday is all about paying homage to the amazing, fun moments we all share,” McDonald’s USA Chief Marketing and Customer Officer Tariq Hassan shared in a press release.
“We're excited to put a modern spin on these memories to continue to drive McDonald's relevance with a new generation,” he added.
