H&M Partners with Mugler for Latest Collection

H&M and Mugler have partnered up to release a new collection that encapsulates the "unique and vibrant spirit" of the luxury brand while tapping into its recognizable silhouettes.

"The collection is true Mugler; each piece is defined by the irrepressible Mugler energy: playful, youthful, body-positive and complimenting each individual's identity," the company shared in a press release.

The multinational clothing brand released an entire lookbook of the capsule alongside its announcement, putting renowned models like Jerry Hall and Mariaclara Boscono in the spotlight.

Lead by Mugler's acclaimed long-time creative director Casey Cadwallader, the Mugler H&M collection houses signature Mugler pieces: catsuits, oversized shoulders and a cinched waist to shape the body; spiral runs present in baggy jeans and jackets, leather styles for trousers, blazers and trench coats and more.

Mugler H&M also includes gender-fluid accessories like sheer gloves and tights, scarves and an array of body chains, earrings and necklaces, with some carrying the iconic Mugler star.

“This collection is a watershed moment for the house of Mugler – a chance for us to celebrate our history and the pieces that we are beloved for today,” Cadwallader explained.

H&M’s Creative Advisor Ann Sofie Johansson also gave her high praises for the people behind the French designer brand. “Casey and the Mugler team have been incredibly generous in offering up so many of the house’s classics and signatures, which shoppers will recognize from the runway and red carpet. The collection encapsulates the H&M ethos of sharing great fashion and democratizing design. Every piece is an icon,” she shared.

H&M has had a long history of collaborating with designer brands. In previous years, the global clothing company have released collections with Kenzo, Versace, Simone Rocha and more as a way of making luxury pieces affordable, catering to its market.

The Mugler H&M capsule drops online and in stores on May 11.
