Food delivery platform foodpanda has announced the appointment of Jaslin Goh as its new Vice President of Marketing for the Asia-Pacific region.
Goh, who previously served as the CMO for PayMe at HSBC, brings over two decades of extensive marketing experience to her new role.
Based in Hong Kong, Goh will directly report to John Fang, CEO of foodpanda, and will be responsible for overseeing marketing operations across 11 diverse markets in Asia.
These markets include Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines.
Goh expressed her enthusiasm in joining the foodpanda team:
“I’m super excited to join the foodpanda family with its unique blend of tech x quick commerce x F&B across 11 strong and flavourful markets. Food reflects the soul and unique idiosyncrasies of each market."
I’m proud to become part of a business where we bring food and people together, through technology, yet in a grassroot, grounded way and is the glue for the cultural fabric of Asia’s best cities," she added.
Foodpanda's Growth Potential
Goh's appointment comes amidst affirmation from Delivery Hero CEO Niklas Ostberg, the Berlin-based owner of foodpanda, about the retention of the foodpanda brand.
Despite previous discussions about the potential sale of Delivery Hero's business in Asia, Ostberg told CNBC he still sees growth potential for foodpanda in the region, considering its recent financial performance.
Delivery Hero reported a 9% increase in total segment revenue of $11.2 billion in 2023.
Goh's extensive background in marketing, coupled with foodpanda's strategic vision and Delivery Hero's support, positions the company well to drive growth and strengthen its brand presence across Asia's dynamic and competitive food delivery market.
