Amazon's end-to-end encrypted service, Wickr believes in the significance of data as the most valuable asset for organizations. Arvind Muthukrishnan, its head of product and design, underscores this perspective in an exclusive interview with Spotlight.

When it comes to data security, only a few communication service providers are capable of letting businesses store their data, communicate, and collaborate securely.

This is why AWS Wickr has designed its service with a “security-first” mindset to ensure customer data is protected as data is sent, and while it is at rest.

Muthukrishnan ensures customers that the platform does not have full access to conversations, so customers have complete control over their data.

“Every call, message, and file is encrypted with a unique secret key and remains indecipherable in transit. No one except intended recipients can access the content,” he added.

Muthukrishnan also shared two key features that most consumer applications lack: administrative controls and retaking data for data retention purposes.

“These controls include addressing information governance policies, implementing integrations for automated workflows with Wickr bots, configuring ephemeral messaging options, and deleting credentials for lost or stolen devices,” he explained.

When it comes to retaking data, the product and design head shared that this would be for financial regulatory requirements, where “compliance obligations require furnishing data or facing fines.”

AWS Wickr, a messaging platform with end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) communication services, takes pride in helping organizations in the public and private sectors collaborate securely.
