Coke Zero Sugar is on its way to convincing audiences that it is the best sugar-free beverage on the market with a comical ad featuring basketball legends like Tamika Catchings and Magic Johnson.

The “The Best Coke Ever?” campaign consists of two 30-second spots advertising the new-and-improved Coke Zero Sugar with a refreshed formula and minimalist packaging designIn both spots, basketball royalty and famous rappers face off to “take” a sip of the new edition Coke Zero Sugar.

One spot, titled “Bodega,” sees rappers Lil Dicky and Travis Bennett go head-to-head for a beverage in a bodega. Unexpectedly, they are interrupted by none other than former basketball player Earvin Johnson, who casually takes the can from their hands and walks away with a smirk.

The second spot, “Diner,” follows a similar premise, this time taking place in a diner with the two rappers being intercepted by WNBA champion Tamika Catchings.

Humorous spots by Cartwright Agency are part of Coke’s NCAA March Madness campaign and are set to premiere nationally during the NCAA season finale on March 4.

The campaign, however, is not limited to the “The Best Coke Ever?” spots. It will include experiential activations, outdoor advertising, limited-edition cans and social media activations followed by the #takeataste hashtag. On-campus events will also be held at colleges and universities around the U.S. as part of the campaign.
