Chevrolet welcomes Fabio Costa as its new Global Chief Creative Officer for global advertising agency Commonwealth//McCann.

With Chevrolet leading as the fastest-growing mass-market auto brand in 2022, it now holds a dominant position in the automobile industry, ushering in a transformative time for the company.

Costa, who is recognized as a “global creative star,” has won an array of awards for his creative work including six Cannes Lions and 35 Clios.

He began his career at the advertising agency Y&R in Brazil and eventually moved to San Francisco for the role of creative director at OgilvyOne. Costa later transferred to The Martin Agency where he led projects which brought award-winning work for JFK Library Museum and Mentos, among others. Continuing to further his career at TBWA\Chiat\Day LA, he became the global creative lead for Adidas and the US creative lead for Netflix, Disney and Miller Lite. Costa now makes the move to Commonwealth/McCann from Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles.

“This is a transformative time for Chevrolet. And transformative times demand transformative leaders, which is why Fabio was the perfect choice for this job. The addition of Fabio completes a full transformation in the leadership of our agency,” announced Gran Theron, CEO and GM of Global Business Leads at IPG.

The full transformation in leadership refers to other overhauls the company has made recently. In addition to Fabio coming on as CCO, Belinda Leworthy is now leading as President of Chevrolet in North America. Global Markets CCO for Commonwealth//McCann Matt Canzano will also be taking on additional responsibilities and working on creative initiatives for the General Motors account.
