Amazon will be jumping on the ChatGPT trend by incorporating a similar style of product search to its eCommerce platform, bettering user experience and competing with both Microsoft and Google's efforts to integrate artificial intelligence in their search engines

The news comes after Amazon's public job postings for a senior software developer engineer who will focus on "reimagining Amazon Search with an interactive conversational experience." 

"This will be a once-in-a-generation transformation for Search," the job listing states, indicating the importance of AI integration for

Considering early efforts of implementing generative AI by Google and Microsoft have been riddled with errors, Amazon's Search update could be perfectly timed to skyrocket the company's search engine ahead of its competitors.

Amazon leaders have previously commented on the potential of generative AI and language models for search engines. Amazon Web Services recently announced the introduction of services that rely primarily on the power of generative AI. 

The Future of Amazon Search and Generative AI 

The job posting comes after a slew of recent controversy and criticism about Amazon's search engine's operation for prioritizing sponsored content and ads.  

It remains to be seen whether the implementation of generative AI will better the Amazon search engine for users or advertisers. Unfortunately, Amazon has not received public comment yet on the topic.
