Performance Max, the goal-based campaign launched by Google in 2021, is receiving notable AI-powered features to help users generate and enhance assets.

"Asset variety is a key ingredient for a successful Performance Max campaign. You’ve told us that creating and scaling assets can be one of the hardest parts of building and optimizing a cross-channel campaign," the company explained in a blog post

Using the user's performance data, Performance Max can now generate text and image assets to help users increase their reach across Google's performance inventory and formats, whether it be by experimenting with new images and messaging or building messaging from scratch.

In an example provided by Google, users can use the new feature by clicking "Generate images," where a pop-up window will appear.

Here, they can type the prompt for the image they'll need, and Google AI will present them with options.

Google Ads Lets Users Enhance Existing Assets

Google Ads is also gearing up to introduce AI-powered image editing capabilities, offering users more flexibility to improve their existing and generated assets.

Agencies and brands will be able to experiment with new headlines, descriptions, and images, and image editing will make it convenient to explore variations.

For businesses with limited creative resources, the ability to create high-quality assets can serve as the foundation for their creative concepts.

Meanwhile, retailers with product assets can leverage AI-powered image editing through Product Studio in Merchant Center Next, allowing them to enhance product images and integrate them into Performance Max campaigns.

This feature is set to simplify the creative process and maximize impact, providing users with powerful tools to enhance their advertising strategies.

It will be available to all Google Ads accounts by early 2024.
