Amazon Web Services (AWS) is partnering with Dante Genomics to launch an innovative platform that leverages AI for genomic and clinical use.

Dante Genomics will be using Amazon Bedrock, a foundation model API service, to create an improved large language model (LLM) to be implemented in personalized medicine for the care of patients with genomic diseases.

With over 130 reports in its database, Amazon Bedrock's LLM platform will allow Dante Genomics customers to easily navigate all its accessible information. Dante will allow reported phenotypes and monogenic disorders to be researched and explored through a chat-style interface.

"By partnering with the tech experts at AWS, Amazon Bedrock as a platform will help us make great strides in revolutionizing the everyday application of genomic data in personalized medicine, delivering better health outcomes with genomic data as a foundation,” Dante Genomics co-founder Andrea Riposati noted in a press release.

With this groundbreaking use of LLMs in genomic medicine, patients will more easily and precisely be able to identify when additional medicinal information and care is needed.

"It was not easy, but the dedicated time and strategic investments are paying off, giving us an amazing source of data to advance LLMs for clinical genomics," added Mattia Capulli, the other co-founder of Dante Genomics.

This is just one of AWS’ most recent ventures in the field of AI. AWS has recently been looking to expand its team of AI professionals, with several career opportunities at the company for AI and data science professionals.

The company has also confirmed that is investing $100 million in a center dedicated to generative AI, in a bid to keep up with tech innovations at Microsoft and Google.
