VaynerMedia is the creative agency behind the hilarious advertising spot "The Clogging" for Scott Brand, making its rounds on social media.
Drawing on inspiration from the atmosphere of classic horror films, the creative media agency tells the story of a woman going to meet her partner’s in-laws for the first time and experiencing social anxiety about toilet clogging.
The humorous 3-minute spot sees the couple forgets the commercial’s star product, Scott 1000, in the car. Soon enough, the woman is forced to deal with what is sure to be a lasting impression on her in-laws.
The spot’s director Chioke Nassor took a film-like approach to the advertisement, combining horror and comedy to promote the brand’s chief product – a toilet paper made with clog-free technology.
"The Clogging" marks Scott Brand’s first immensely successful social-first marketing campaign, available on YouTube and other social media platforms.
It is a unique example of how quality storytelling can sell almost any product.
