Samsung is back with part two of last year’s quirky advertisement “Join the Flip Side.”
The new installment is a 2-minute-long horror parody spot taking inspiration from the legendary plot of the horror film “The Ring.” This time, however, the mysterious entity capturing everybody’s attention in “Join the Flip Side” is none other than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 smartphone.
“Have you heard about the Samsung Flip phone? Apparently, you must only look at it once and then it gets stuck inside your mind or something,” explains one of the characters in “Join the Flip Side.”
As the plot progresses, characters find it harder than ever to fight the appeal of the Samsung Galaxy flip phone and all the features it has to offer, particularly its primary selling point, the Flex mode.
The spot ends with one of the leading characters unboxing a new phone next to a campfire. Two boys look over at her, and one says: “Is that the new one?”
Samsung is expected to announce the release of its new flip smartphone model at this year’s Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled for July 26.
With details about the new model yet to be revealed, the “Join the Flip Side” advertisement is an example of the success that top creative agencies can bring to brands teasing up-and-coming products.
